The another idea for propulsion is Antimatter drive . When matter and Antimatter come in proximity , they anhilate each other releasing even more energy than fusion. A fusion based propulsion unit could generate 100 trillion joules per kilo of fuel respectable when considering that it would be 10 million times more efficient than chemical reactions. Matter Antimatter reactions however, dwarf all other reactions. Imagine a drive could generate 20 quadrillion joules from 1kilo of reactant mass. That’s enough power to form one kilo to supply the world’s need for about 25minutes. Technical problem include lack of fuel. The world supply few dozen nanograms a year, fuel handling -you can easily preg the catastrophic results of an Antimatter fuel accident and reaction control. All these technologies are as far away now as the atomoga bomb was to alfred Noble, inventor of TNT. We may see the beginning of an intersteller space flight program before the end of millenium. We will simply off a compelling reason. To incontempable seriously reaching the stars ,we off to understood hurdles involved in it. When these are resolved , there is no doubt man’s foot will be in nearest star or may be on galaxy.
