Stick insect: largest living insect

The largest known stick insect is Phobaeticus chani , with one specimen held in the natural history museum in London, measuring 567 millimeters (22.3inch) in total length. This measurement is however with front legs. The body alone measures 357 millimeters(14.1inch). The species with the second longest body is Phobaeticus kirbyi , which measures up to 328 millimeters(12.9inch) while the overall length is up to 546 millimeters(21.5in) ,and the body weighs up to 72g. The longest insect in terms of total length is Phobaeticus serratipes measuring up to 555mm(21.9inch) .
